| When is a busy season for lodgings in Hiroshima? | |
|
Lodgings become very crowded during the tourist season as below, so it is recommended to book well in advance. |
| How can visitors get to downtown Hiroshima from the Hiroshima Airport? | |
We recommend they take a limousine (shuttle) bus that runs on a regular basis. Two different routes are available: 1) For JR Hiroshima Station North Side (approx. 45 minutes); 2) For Hiroshima Bus Center via Astramline's Nakasuji Station (about 50 minutes). The fares are uniform for both 1) and 2): \1,300 (one way); \2,360 (both ways; ticket valid for 7 days) For further information, please visit the website of Hiroshima Airport. |
| We want to drive to Hiroshima and its vicinity for sightseeing. What interchange (I.C.) do you recommend we should get off? Please inform us of the right I.C. (Exit No.), according to respective destinations. | |
Take the Sanyo Expressway and get off at the following exits. 1. If your destination is midtown area, get off at Hiroshima I.C. (Exit 29). 2. If you go westward to such places as Shoko Center (a huge business park of firms related mainly to commerce, distribution, and service industries), the Alpark Shopping Mall, Saeki-ku (Saeki Ward), etc., please get off at Itsukaichi I.C. (Exit 31). 3. If you would like to see some scenic spots located in the east of the city, we recommend you take Hiroshima-Higashi I.C. (Exit 28). The Hiroshima-Higashi I.C. is connected with the Hiroshima Expressway Route 1 that provides an easy access near to the JR Hiroshima Station. Both Hiroshima-Higashi I.C. and Seifu-Shinto I.C. are linked directly to the city center via Hiroshima Expressway Route 4. We suggest, however, you prevent the morning and evening rush hours from taking the National Highway Route 2, Nishi-Hiroshima Bypass, National Highway Route 54, and other principal arteries of traffic. Due to a heavy traffic jam, it undoubtedly would take you much longer to drive than you would expect.
